Household Hazardous Waste 
Collection Day

Collect all your unwanted chemicals, poisons, toxics, cleaners, stains, latex paints, automotive cleaners and supplies, fluorescent bulbs, car batteries and mercury containing products and get rid of them at the 2013 Pueblo County Hazardous Waste Collection Day for a $5 entrance fee per vehicle. 

Saturday, May 11, 2013    8:00am - 1:00pm 
Colorado State Fairgrounds (Gate 3 - westbound Mesa Avenue)
Additional fees for electronics, freon containing items and tires.

Free Clean-Up Day 
at the Southside Landfill

Open to Pueblo City Residents ONLY!  

Pick-up trucks and cars with solid waste, trash, and yard trimmings are free. Trailers are charged 40% off the posted gate rate. NO HAZARDOUS materials/liquids, electronics, tires or freon items allowed.

PHHI HEALTHY HOME ASSESSMENT TOOL

Test your home for radon gas and find out what level you are being exposed to. Pueblo, Fremont, Custer and Otero County residents in Colorado may stop by our office and pick up a FREE short-term radon test kit. 
M-TH between the hours of 10:00am to 3:00pm.

Radon Test Kits
 
Free short-term radon test kits are available to all Custer, Fremont, Pueblo and Otero County residents. To pick up a free test kit please visit our office, 301 N Main St., Ste. 101, M-TH from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. or by appointment.
 
Mercury Thermostat Exchange Program
 
Free thermostat exchange program to all low-income Pueblo County residents, landlords, non-profit organizations and small local businesses. Project will run from August 1, 2012 to June 29, 2013. ALL thermostats will be replaced with a programmable thermostat and installed by a local licensed electrician at no cost.
 
STEP 1: Take the cover off of your thermostat and verify that it containes mercury.
STEP 2: Verify what type of heating system is in the house (A very limited number of boiler systems will be allowed).
STEP 3: Call the CCAP-ERA hotline to sign up for the program.

Our bi-lingual (Spanish and English) promotora, NEHA-NRPP certified in both radon measurement and mitigation, lead renovation and as a Healthy Homes Specialist, answers questions on all aspects of indoor air quality. Call (719)252-6258 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
